Joe Solomito was a special friend to the Memphis Area Golden Retriever Rescue (MAGRR).  Joe and his wonderful wife, Rhonda, adopted their first Golden Retriever from us in April of 2006.   Jake was about 7 or 8 when he came to MAGRR.  He had lost his family and was so grateful to become a member of the Solomito Family.  Jake quickly became a treasure to them and bonded with they as they bonded with Jake.  They gave him a fantastic home for the rest of his life.  When Jake passed away, the Solomitos knew they had to have another golden, so in came sweet Mary Jane who had been abandoned at a local shelter and suffered from heartworms.  Again, the Solomitos, gave this sweet girl a wonderful home for the rest of her life.  After Mary Jane passed away, they fostered for us a bit but their love of Golden Retrievers and their support of MAGRR never wavered.  We are very confident that Joe is now reuniting with Jake & Mary Jane at the Rainbow Bridge.  What a joyful reunion it must be!!

“Animal lovers are a special breed of humans, generous of spirit, full of empathy, perhaps a little prone to sentimentality, and with hearts as big as a cloudless sky”

Until We Meet Again

Those special memories of you
will always bring a smile
if only I could have you back
for just a little while

Then we could sit and talk
just like we used to do
you always meant so very much
and always will do too

The fact that you’re not longer here
will always cause me pain
but you’re forever in my heart until we meet again
