Dear Lord, please open your gates and call St. Francis to come escort this beloved companion across the Rainbow Bridge.

God speed sweet boy.  You will always be in our hearts.

To my Humans!

You have treated me kindly, my beloved friends, for no heart in the entire world is more grateful for kindness than the loving heart of me.

You spoke to me often, for your voice is the world’s sweetest music, as you must know by the fierce wagging of my tail when the sound of your footstep falls upon my waiting ears.

You took me inside when it was cold, wet, for I was a domesticated animal and not accustomed to bitter elements. I asked no greater glory than the privilege of sitting at your feet beside the hearth.

You kept my pan filled with fresh water, for I cannot tell you when I suffered thirst. You fed me clean food that let me stay well, to romp and play and do your bidding to walk by your side.

And, my friend, when I am very old and I no longer enjoy good health, hearing and sight, do not make heroic efforts to keep me going. I am not having any fun.  Please see to it that my life is taken gently.  I shall leave this earth knowing with the last breath I draw that my fate was always safest in your hands.

Love your faithful friend,
Archie

Archie’s story is truly a Cinderella story.  He was saved from the Memphis Animal Shelter by MAGRR in August of 2002 with a guessed age of 2.  He was adopted by a family who later could not keep him due to divorce and they were neighbors of the Huselton family who had visited with him and knew what a special boy he was.  They adopted him with MAGRR’s blessing and he lived his life loved and adored.  His parents were golfers and lived on the golf course.  He loved riding in golf cart and enjoyed his golden sister Goldie until she passed away.  We know that he will be greatly missed and our sympathy goes to the Huseltons as well as our gratitude for giving this boy his absolute forever home.  Your friends at MAGRR.
