December 14, 2019:
Tinsel came to a local rural shelter this week with Holly as a pair. They ended up at a lady’s trailer. Tinsel still had a collar with a chain on it, so clearly they were “yard dogs.” The finder thankfully called the animal shelter. The shelter was extremely full, so they have been in an outside pen with a tarp. The manager agreed to let us move them to boarding last night at our vet clinic to get them out of the cold.
These two are most likely sisters and bonded. I spent some time with them yesterday. They were both sweet and loved the affection and pets. Tinsel seems to be a little calmer and more reserved compared to her sister. She may be a little insecure and unsure of herself, but since she was dragging a chain there was no telling how she had been treated. It may take her longer to gain trust, but she is very sweet. She definitely needs to have some groceries and TLC. They have been in an outside pen where several dogs walked by and they were non reactive. I had my vet clinic dog test and they said they were timid (probably the first time they’ve ever been inside), but no reactive. She is so sweet and calm and just needs to be loved.
