Foster Update 2/11/2017
Sky had a doggie visitor today and we were so pleased at how well she did.  Phyl brought her 8 year old very laid-back Golden, Herschel, over and they were introduced carefully, walked and then slowly allowed off leash in the back yard.  She actually liked Herschel.  He is extremely non-reactive and not “in your face” kind of boy.  A dog like Herschel is exactly the kid of friend that Sky needs.  She will do great and actually needs another dog – just the right kind.  Introduction very important.  She is absolutely adorable and so cuddly and cute.  She will make the right family a fabulous new member.  She is worth the effort of a good introduction and giving her time to adjust.

Foster Update 1/10/2017:
Sky is shy at first meeting to new people but comes around quickly and is oh so sweet and loving.  She is housebroken and crate trained.  She has a very soft mouth when taking treats and is not aggressive with food regarding people but doesn’t like other dogs around her food.  She has to be introduced correctly to other dogs and has to have time to adjust to another dog.

Foster Update 12/31/2016
Sky is still very timid but is coming out of her shell. She loves her crate and loves attention from people. She enjoys cuddling and being petted. She is a very calm dog.

Intake Report 11/22/2016:
This beautiful girl was an owner surrender to a local high kill shelter.   In her kennel at the shelter she was calm, submissive and clearly scared, but after getting her out of her kennel she warmed up and began leaning into me for petting.  She is a super affectionate girl and well mannered.  She has probably walked on a leash before but was very scared of the noise and loud barking dogs she was surrounded by. After spending time with her, we decided she needed MAGRR.  She’s got a longer, very soft coat with some tan spots.  She was covered in huge fat ticks and lots of smaller ones too. She’s super skinny and has had several litters of puppies. Once she has some time to decompress from the stress of the shelter and gets cleaned up, she’s going to be a beautiful MAGRR gal!
