Foster Update 9/15/2020
Nelson continues to be that precious Old Gold. He loves his life and enjoys having a soft place to just be. He is very sweet and so low maintenance. He does have a bad hip which our doctors don’t think we should do surgery on since he has had it a long time and seems to be fine with some pain medication. Because of this we don’t feel that he is a candidate for the transport. 24 hours in a crate would be hard on him.
Foster Update 5/14/2020
Nelson is one well behaved older guy. He has settled right in and enjoys his naps on the couch. He chases the 2 cats but really just wants to play with them. He prefers the “take it easy” but will chase balls and play with a toy some. His right back leg is arthritic but evidently has been like that all his life. He doesn’t mind car rides or short walks but likes to just hang out the most. He is exceptionally sweet🐾

We got a call about a precious senior golden mix desperately needing rescue. This sweet ole man’s uncaring family dropped off at a rural West Tennessee shelter because she said she is remodeling her house and he was in the way! Just imagine having this sweet one for 10 years or so and just throwing him away. He was scared, stinky, a little shy, sweet, sweet, sweet, but just imagine what he has been through! His world was turned upside down. Of course he had not had the best medical care and has heart worms. We will get this boy back to health and he can spend his “golden” years being loved and care for as he should have been all of his life. After a much needed bath, he already felt better. Thanks to our Intake Team member Janis who sprung into action to get this boy to safety even during these stressful pandemic times. We are all so happy to be a part of our MAGRR village! Thank you Janis and this sweet boy especially is appreciative. He is going to make some family a wonderful new addition.
