Intake Report 4/16/2017:
A very nice man was driving down I40 about a month ago and there were 2 dogs about to be hit. A golden and a rottie. This nice man, unlike many, stopped and got these two. They looked like they knew each other so he thought they were someone’s pets. Of course they were; however, he tried for a month to find their owners. Alas, no one came forward. MAGRR was called and of course agreed to take the Golden and thanks to Deb, rescue was found for the rottie. Both will be safe now. This man said that Katie was an excellent dog. She gets along with other dogs and is very friendly. She had obviously not had much training and doesn’t know how to walk on a leash. Her coat appears a little on the thin side, but she seems to otherwise be in good condition. She has good energy and doesn’t act as old as her pictures make her look. She has nice feathering and her coat is more of field coat and not so much undercoat – great for less shedding. She is very sweet and loved everyone and every dog that she met. We took her outside for pictures and she kept looking as though looking for someone. The man obviously loved her and hated to say goodbye. I think he already has dogs and just couldn’t keep either of them. She is going to be a very nice dog. I think she will train easily as she seems to want to please.
