Foster Update 8/10/20
Honey was a little shy and unsure of the other dogs when she first arrived. She took her time deciding that they were okay! Now she loves running around the yard and playing chase with them. Some of her favorite toys are the tennis ball and a stuffy. And not once has she torn up a stuffy! She tosses it in the air, shakes it, carries it around, but no destuffing. In the evenings Honey loves to lie next to you on the sofa. She will show her belly and give you that “more please” look. She has an open crate in the laundry room that she sleeps in at night. Sometimes she goes there in the daytime for a nap. She has had no accidents and has not torn up anything in the house! She is the sweetest little girl. Don’t let her white face fool you…she is middle aged and ready to love her own family.

Honey was surrendered by her family because she didn’t really like the small dog next door, but lived with another dog with whom she was fine. She likes to play, but needed some training to teach her to accept small dogs. Honey was a little head-strong and one of those dogs that just needed some good training with boundaries. Her family decided that since their neighbor didn’t want her in the neighborhood that they would allow us to take her and get the training that she needed. She spent 2 weeks with a trainer and now Honey is perfectly trained to heel, sit and stay on command. (see video). She is going to make some family a wonderful new friend. She loves people and loves to play with other dogs. She just needed some intense training to get her over her aversion to small dogs. She is such a sweet little lady and a very good size. Maybe she is who your are looking for to join your family. She has just gone to her foster home so we will have more to come.
