January 24, 2020 – Foster Update

Holly has settled in well to her foster home. At first she was a little timid and unsure, but she has really come out of her shell. She is a very sweet girl who loves to cuddle. She and her foster siblings wrestle and play non-stop. She goes in her crate willingly when I’m about to leave and sleeps in the bedroom with me and my dogs. She has a lot of energy, so she needs to run around a lot.  She is a wonderful girl.

December 14, 2019:

Holly came to a local rural shelter this week with Tinsel as a pair. They ended up at a lady’s trailer. Tinsel still had a collar with a chain on it, so clearly they were “yard dogs.” The finder thankfully called the animal shelter  The shelter was extremely full, so they have been in an outside pen with a tarp. The manager agreed to let me us move them to boarding last night at our vet clinic to get them out of the cold.

These two are most likely sisters and bonded. I spent some time with them yesterday. They were both sweet and loved the affection and pets. Holly is more outgoing and has a fun personality. When Tinsel would walk away, she was excited for all of the attention. She has the potential to be ver playful, but I think she’s a great dog. Unlike her sister, Holly has a sleeker coat. We weren’t going to take one and not the other though.
She definitely needs to have some groceries and TLC. They have been in an outside pen where several dogs walked by and they were non reactive. I had my vet clinic dog test and they said they were timid (probably the first time they’ve ever been inside), but no reactive.
They are going to make great additions to any homes lucky enough to get one or both of them.
