Foster Update 6/25/2017
This sweet boy gets along well with other dogs and cats, too!  He’s a little timid at the start but once he gets to know you he is a total love.  His one passion in life is water and swimming.  What a wonderful companion he will be to his forever home.

Foster Update 5/19/2017:
Coop is one great dog….tons of energy and a real love.  His passion is fetching and he has warmed up to our cats so much that one of them slept next to him recently.  Since we think he is about 6 he is past the chewing stage and he gets along great with our Dachshund.  He walks well on leash and we have recently started taking him on runs with us and he loves that.  Whoever adopts Coop will get one terrific dog.  Coop is still fearful at first, so his new family will have to give him time to adjust and be patient with him.

Intake Report 3/9/2017:

Welcome Coop.   This boy is just as handsome as his namesake – Gary Cooper (Coop).   He is a beautiful mahogany with a very sweet face.  He lived with his family and another dog – actually his sibling.   Both were un-neutered males and while they got along most of the time, there were a couple of occasional scrapes over food and/or bones.  This is not unusual; however, the family decided to surrender Coop.  Coop is very fearful of new people and so one has to take it slow with him and let him realize that he is safe.  We don’t know what happened to him to make him this way, but once he warms up, he is very loving and will roll over on his back for belly rubs.  He just wants to know that he can trust.  We believe that once he gets into a home and knows love and care that he will blossom into the precious doggie that he was meant to be.
