Tyson Blumberg |
|

September 1, 2010
Tyson was abandoned in
Tennessee when he was only 2 years old in 2003. The Blumberg
family in NY quickly realized what a fabulous boy he was and so his
journey began. He left Memphis one Friday on a bright October
day on volunteer CUR (Canine Underground Railroad).
Tyson road all of the way to Wilmington, DE, in 1 hours legs with
hand-offs to the next driver, where his new owner, Marv, met his for
the first time. Following is what he said in remembering that
day:
"I still have the picture taken by the two girls who brought
him to Wilmington DE when I first met Tyson. I can well remember the
ride back to Hyde Park from there. He behaved so well and just put
his head in my lap for most of the ride back. What a sweet dog!!"
Tyson lived his life happily in Hyde Park, NY,
with his family and several other canine companions. He was
truly loved and enjoyed life and lots of walks right next to the
Roosevelt Home Site. He was truly one of the lucky ones.
He will be so missed by all of his family.

I sit and try to write the words, I want your
heart to hear. Hoping to find some comfort, in the fact that
you're not here
I look out into the open field, that you
once occupied, Knowing now that field is empty, because my love,
you've died
I do believe with all my heart, that your soul
has gone to be, With all the other Angel dogs, that you were
meant to see.
We will have to stay behind, until God call us
too, So do not be afraid my friend, that he's only called for
you. exerts by Holly W. Gray

God speed sweet Angel boy until we meet again

Tribute To A Best Friend.jpg)
Sunlight
streams through window pane unto a spot on the floor.... then I
remember, it's where you used to lie, but now you are no more.
Our feet walk down a hall of carpet, and muted echoes sound....
then I remember, It's where your paws would joyously abound. A
voice is heard along the road, and up beyond the hill, then I
remember it can't be yours.... your golden voice is still. But
I'll take that vacant spot of floor and empty muted hall and lay
them with the absent voice and unused dish along the wall. I'll
wrap these treasured memorials in a blanket of my love and keep
them for my best friend until we meet above.

Dooley Simmons |

I
stood by your bed last night; I came to have a peep.
I could
see that you were crying you found it hard to sleep.
I
whined to you softly as you brushed away a tear,
"It's
me, I haven't left you, I'm well, I'm fine, I'm here."
I was
close to you at breakfast, I watched you pour the tea,
You
were thinking of the many times your hands reached down to me.
I was
with you at the shops today; your arms were getting sore.
I
longed to take your parcels, I wish I could do more.
I was
with you at my grave today; you tend it with such care.
I want
to reassure you, that I'm not lying there.
I
walked with you towards the house, as you fumbled for your key.
I
gently put my paw on you; I smiled and said, "It's me."
You
looked so very tired, and sank into a chair.
I tried
so hard to let you know, that I was standing there.
It's
possible for me to be near you every day.
To say
to you with certainty, "I never went away."
You sat
there very quietly, then smiled, I think you knew...
In the
stillness of that evening, I was very close to you.
The day
is over...I smile and watch you yawning
And
say, "Goodnight, God bless, I'll see you in the morning."
And
when the time is right for you to cross the brief divide,
I'll
rush across to greet you and we'll stand, side by side.
I have
so many things to show you, there is so much for you to see.
Be
patient, live your journey out...then come home to be with me.

Sometimes a dog comes along that you know
instantly is "your" dog. So was the case with Dooley. He came into
our lives at a time when we needed him most as we had lost our beloved
Bear and Sunshine. He was special from the moment he came to our
house. Alas, his time with us was short due to the dreaded Hermangio
Sarcoma, but as heartbreaking as it was to lose him, we wouldn't trade
one moment of his time with us. We loved him as much as if he had
been with us all of his life and we felt that he had and we believe
that he considered us his "true" family.
Rest is peace sweet Dools. We will always love you and miss you
everyday.

Teddy & JoJo The Village Dogs
|
Teddy
was and always will be a MAGRR celebrity. With his happy smile and
animated personality, he was featured in the Commercial Appeal and
on television when he became the first rescued dog in the Memphis
area to take up permanent residence at a retirement village.
There, he had the freedom to do as he pleased, whether it was
roaming the halls, hanging out with his human friends, or
consuming a few too many calories! He even learned to let himself
in and out of the automatic doors. Most Goldens are loved by one
family, Teddy was lucky enough to be loved by many! He will be
greatly missed by those at The Village of Germantown and everyone
at MAGRR.

Sweet JoJo joined his friend Teddy at the
Rainbow Bridge on May 26, 2010. These old pals made quite the pair!
Long after Jojo moved in with the Simmons family, and his gig at the
Village became "part-time",
he still knew where to find Teddy when he went
to visit, and they were always happy to see one another. Jojo
enjoyed "going to work", trotting in through the automatic doors and
waiting patiently for Phyl to input the code, so that he could head
down the hall to make his rounds. Jojo's other favorite pastime was
catching "critters" out in Phyl's yard, once sending the Simmons
family into a scramble when he delivered a live opossum to their den
floor! He was a sweet and special boy who made a lasting impression
on everyone he met; his absence leaves an emptiness in the hearts of
all who loved him.
