Adoption Information

All MAGRR Goldens have been:

  • examined by a vet

  • vaccinated

  • micro-chipped

  • heartworm tested and/or treated

  • spayed or neutered

Although no health guarantee is given as to future defects or illnesses, we have done our best to see that our dogs are healthy at the time of adoption. Dogs adopted to the Northeast are transported via ground by a USDA licensed transport.  An adoption application, adoption contract, and fee is required for all adoptions.  MAGRR is a Tennessee non-profit organization.

How to Adopt

New England Adopters - READ HERE!

By now, you've scoured the entire website, read over all of our policies, and can recite the Available Golden reports by heart! You have discussed it with your family, given it a considerable amount of thought, and you are definitely ready for a new furry family member.

If this is your first time adopting from a rescue group, you may find the procedure to be a bit intimidating. Don't sweat it! By filling out our adoption application, you are simply providing information that will give us insight as to what type of Golden will be suitable for your family; submitting the application does not obligate you to adopt from us. Once you have been approved, MAGRR will make suggestions and let you know which Goldens are appropriate matches for your home, but ultimately, the decision to proceed with an adoption is yours.

Who knew rescuing a dog could be so complicated? Yes, there are certain eligibility requirements that an applicant must meet before they can be matched with one of our Goldens. Please do not let these policies discourage you from rescue, our eligibility requirements are established out of love and concern for our sweet dogs, whose lives have been turned upside down, largely due to the carelessness of others. MAGRR is responsible for making the best possible decisions for their well-being; in short, we only allow them to leave good foster homes for the promise of even better forever homes. MAGRR is a non-profit organization; we are not out to make money off our Goldens. You will find that our adoption fee and policies are comparable with other reputable rescues. The adoption fee covers only a small fraction of our veterinary expenses.

Our website is updated frequently, however we cannot guarantee that all of the Goldens pictured are still available, as some are already being considered by other adopters. We make every effort to place each dog with the most suitable family, case by case, so we suggest providing as much detail as possible in your application before submitting it. Please double check to make sure your email address and phone number are correct on your application. We will begin reviewing your information and working to find the best possible match for your home!
