FOSTER
UPDATE 7/20/2010
Marsey moved to a new foster home because her first foster mom had to
move out of state. The first few days she was sad but then she
started to open up and join in with the pack...4 other dogs living at my
house. She is a gentle soul and all have accepted her with no
issues at all. She loves to try out different sleeping spots as I
have several dog beds around and two open crates. She was hesitant
at first but learned to use the foot stool to crawl up on the people bed
and was she ever proud of herself. She rooted all over the bed
with joy and then snuggled in next to me. She gets very excited at
breakfast and dinner and barks while I'm dishing the kibble up.
She also will give a very low "ruff" to tell you she wants something.
You can't help being happy around Marsey because the corners of her
mouth turn up slightly in a Mona Lisa smile. Everyone that visits
just loves her and can't stop petting her. Of course she soaks
that up! She'll be a wonderful addition to some lucky family.
FOSTER
UPDATE 5/26/2010
Marsey's personality has really started to emerge. She loves
watching her smaller foster sisters play and wrestle, and she even joins
in now and then. She's so gentle with them, but loves to play pounce and
then join in chasing around the house. We've had ducks in the front yard
a couple of times, and Marsey gets very interested in them; she does her
yodel-whine that always comes out when she is excited. She had been a
little wary of meeting her MAGRR friends who live up the street, but now
that they've been walking together regularly, she loves greeting the
other dogs, and gets excited when she knows she is going to see them.
This sweet girl has really become a happy, goofy, affectionate creature
who lets you know just how much she loves you.
FOSTER
UPDATE 4/22/2010
This sweet girl wants nothing more than a comfy house, a human of
her own, and to be included in someone's life. Marsey is so happy since
she has been at her foster home. She loves being loved, going for walks,
riding in the car, chewing Nylabones and getting treats. She is so calm
and well-behaved. Her eyes just sparkle and shine with her happiness at
having a home. Marsey has met some Golden friends the last couple of
weeks and was a little overwhelmed, but with a proper introduction and
some acclimation time, she will do great with a furry companion. Her
foster sisters just love her, and vice-versa. I moved her bed over next
to mine, and you can see how happy she is to be close to me. And really,
that's what Marsey wants most: a family to be close too.
FOSTER
UPDATE 3/24/2010
Marsey arrived a week and a half ago to her foster home, and it has
been like watching a sunbeam break through the gray clouds. This
precious girl was so sad, sober, and shut off when she arrived that she
usually went to a room by herself, and stayed there except for bathroom
breaks. She didn't want to eat, although she was always ready for some
Pupperoni, and her expression just broke my heart. But now Marsey is a
new dog: she wags her tail and comes to greet me at the door, she loves
pushing her head under my hand for pets, or to lay under my foot for
some rubs. She sleeps on a blanket in the bedroom at night, has
conquered her fear of the dog door, and can't wait for breakfast and
dinner time. This weekend I got her to "say" please for her dinner, and
last night I got a kiss from Marsey when I arrived home - both were
firsts. She has met the neighborhood kids, and absolutely loved the
attention and being rubbed. Marsey has changed so much; I sometimes
can't believe she's the same dog. Marsey is still skittish around sudden
movement, but she is a sweet, quiet, lovable girl who will bring her
forever family so much love. She likes treats and Nylabones, is very
well behaved, and gets along great with her smaller foster sister dogs.
She would love to go for walks, but she has to stay quiet until her
heartworm treatment is over. Marsey is one wonderful girl, who deserves
a wonderful home.

Report 3/4/2010
Marsey was found and the poor older girl
taken to a very high kill shelter. There she became very depressed
and lost all hope. Her eyes were pleading for redemption and along
came the nice man from MAGRR and decided to give this girl a chance.
She was in terrible condition and very stoic but hopeful. She went
to our clinic and her new life began right away with a good bath, good
food and good medical care. She was treated for those nasty
heartworms that someone allowed her to get when they are so easily
prevented. She is so much relieved that she has a second chance
for a good life. She goes to her foster home for more love and
attention on 3/12/2010. Watch for her to blossom.
