Welcome to the MAGRR website! We are an all-volunteer, non-profit organization. By focusing our efforts on one lovable breed, we are able to place hundreds of abandoned dogs in happy, loving homes each year. The need for Golden rescue is overwhelmingly evident in the South, so much that MAGRR has expanded its efforts beyond West Tennessee and the "Memphis Area" into portions of Arkansas, Mississippi, and even Louisiana. Our group is based out of Germantown, Tennessee with volunteers scattered throughout Memphis and neighboring cities. We do not have a facility of our own, only a nice group of veterinarians who make time to care for our dogs, and a wonderful circle of foster families who house our Goldens until their forever families come along to adopt them. We also have a successful New England adoption program, and many of our Goldens find love in the northeast. Our adoption policies are implemented for the safety and well-being of our Goldens. These dogs come from shelters, are found as strays, or are surrendered by their owners. Many of their lives have been turned upside down and we do our best to make sure they are placed with people who will love and care for them just as we have. MAGRR's rescue efforts are funded by donations, fundraising events, and membership dues. We offer three levels of membership for which you can pledge your support. Gold, ($100) Family, ($40) Individual, ($25)
To Err is Human, To Forgive is Canine...
While MAGRR is wholeheartedly committed to finding permanent homes for these precious dogs, please keep in mind that we are volunteers- juggling careers, children, spouses, and other commitments outside of MAGRR. Though we strive to promptly answer all MAGRR emails, return phone calls, update our website, and keep our applicants informed, there are times when we may fall behind or fail to communicate in a timely manner. We ask for your patience and understanding when this happens, but welcome you to contact us with questions or concerns. Email is always the best way to reach us.
